Black Owned Leicester is a digital platform and publication dedicated to discovering, highlighting and promoting Black owned businesses in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.

Black owned businesses have often lacked visibility and longevity in the county. Black owned Leicester seeks to create brand awareness and contribute to solutions to challenges influencing these businesses. The aim is to build customer trust and encourage networking.

Black Owned Leicester will have special features for long standing businesses and individuals who have contributed to the betterment of the community and excelled in their industries.

In addition, the publication will serve as a travel guide for visitors to the county who wish to experience ‘Black Leicester’ – its heritage, culture and history. As well as spotlighting any main events.

Meet The Founder
‘’As a black woman, I have seen hardworking black men and women with great ideas and businesses not discovered. It was a challenge to connect with black trades men & women to help with my property business. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I was motivated to support the black community. This gave the idea of Black Owned Leicester. ‘’
Annie Otum is an IT consultant and property investor. She is a wife and mother of two with a passion for helping others succeed.
